Description: The project involved replacement of the Towns deteriorated Main Interceptor Sewer. The existing sewer was constructed of vetrified clay pipe with many of the manholes made of concrete block. The Town was plagued with sewer blockages, pipeline breaks, and groundwater infiltration problems due to the poor condition of the system.
System Improvements: The existing system was replaced with 8,000 linear feet of 8, 10 and 12 inch pipe and 42 precast concrete manholes with watertight covers. Work included stream crossings, highway crossings, and work in streets.
Construction Cost: $525,000
