Description: LA Gates Company is doing the design and Construction Plans for a 3.7 mile section of the East Beckley Bypass in Beckley West Virginia. The road is a commercial type partially controlled access five lane facility that starts at the southern end of Eisenhower Drive and swings northward along the rim of the Piney Creek gorge and runs some 3.7 miles north to its intersection with Ragland Road. Future plans include extending the Bypass from Ragland Road northward to it’s intersection with US Route 19 in Bradley.

The Bypass has a construction cost of $50 million. It includes over 1.6 miles of side roads, 4 signalized intersections, 248 drainage structures, 5.4 miles of storm drainage pipe and over 148,000 tons of asphalt.
