Description: The new Steinbeck Bridge is a two lane single span replacement structure that carries WV Route 33 traffic over the left fork of Reedy Creek. This bridge was designed and detailed in Metric Units.
Superstructure: This bridge has a single 23 134 mm span. The concrete deck is 11 800 mm wide and 230 mm thick with barriers on each side. The slab is supported on five W920 X 271 rolled shaped beams. Since this bridge has integral abutments, expansion devices were not used.
Substructure: Abutment 1 is fully integral with the superstructure and is supported on a single row of HP 310 x 79 steel bearing piles. Abutment 2 is a semi-integral highwall type abutment supported on a concrete spread footing.
