Valley Bank Remodel

Location: Roanoke, Virginia

Owner: Valley Bank

Architect: Rife + Wood

Description: This was an existing 2,700 s.f. single story, wood framed structure. The original roof framing system consisted of pre-engineered flat trusses. The building exterior and roof system was upgraded. New 10:12 pitched roof trusses were added over top of the existing roof structure. A new drive-thru canopy was added at the rear side of the building.

Special Considerations: An existing girder truss supporting the roof overhang along the front of the building was inadequate for the new loading imposed by the new truss system. The existing roof system was shored and the support girder truss was cut out and replaced with an engineered composite beam.

Completion Date: April, 2001

Construction Cost: $450,000
